Tori is a 1 year old terrier, she weighs 12.9 pounds. This girl is very special to us. We tried for 3 weeks to catch her, but she was too smart and too quick for us.
She lived on her owner's property, but he didn't have any kind of relationship with her. He was given her mother by a family member. Her mother gave birth and unfortunately the mother and both of her siblings got hit by cars.
Tori was left alone and relied on this man for food and water when he could afford to give her some. We were alerted to her situation and tried our best to get her to safety. We finally had to resort to trapping her.
This girl is so smart that she was stepping over the trap release to eat the food. She even dropped some food on the release and then licked it off while we were watching her. Finally she was closed in the trap and we brought her to the vet's office.
Tori was covered in ticks, she even had them around her eyes and deep in her ears. Thankfully she was heart worm negative, but she is being treated for anemia and fecal parasites.
She will let us hold her, but she won't come to us on her own yet. Tori will need a patient owner that will work with her to trust humans. This is the first time she has ever been touched so it is new and scary for her.
We did bring 2 dogs to meet her and she did well with both of them.
