Jace is a 6 month old Australian Shepherd mix. He weighs about 30 pounds at this time.
Jace has had a rough start to his life. He was found as a stray, poor Jace was so sick we weren't sure if he would make it or not. He was treated for Parvo, Coccidia, hook worms and Sarcoptic mange. Thankfully he lived through all of that after 2 weeks of intense care at the vet's office.
This little guy was definitely taken away from his mother too soon. The dogs he is living with in his foster home are helping to teach him how to behave.
Jace would do best in a home with at least one other dog. He would not do well being crated for a long period of time. He is very playful and energetic.
He's a goof ball! He is not afraid of a anything! He loves to explore, he loves to run and he really loves the water! He loves to chew on rubber type toys. He has several that squeak or are laced or hold treats.
Jace really enjoyes being outside. And drinks LOTS of water! He likes cats, his foster home has two outside, but he plays rough sometimes. He has never hurt either of them.
He has a little separation anxiety, especially at bedtime. And he can climb ANY HEIGHT baby gate if he can't see you. He's been crate trained here and does well during the day as long as he has a toy or two in the crate with him. He also seems to like a night light.
He is a very sweet and loving little guy and will even talk to you!
He knows "sit", "down" and "off" and will come when called. He is very treat motivated, however, he will do these things without being treated.
Jace had a rough start to his life so we want him to have the best home possible. He needs a fenced in yard for potty and playtime.
Please fill out an application if you would like to meet Jace.
