UPDATE 1/2/10: THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED AND DONATED MONEY FOR HOPE!!!!!!
SHE IS DOING WONDERFUL, SHE HAD HER DOUBLE HERNIA SURGERY AND WAS SPAYED. SHE DID WELL WITH THOSE SURGERIES SO THE DOCTOR DID HER TUMMY TUCK NEXT. THEY FOUND A MASS DURING THAT PROCEDURE BUT THANKFULLY EVERYTHING CAME OUT OKAY!!!!!! HOPE WILL BE GOING TO HER NEW HOME THIS WEEK AND WE COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!!
WE COULD NOT HAVE DONE ALL THIS WITHOUT ALL YOUR HELP AND WE TRULY APPRECIATE IT!!!
Please meet Hope, we gave her a pretty name to make her feel special. She has had a rough life up until now. Hope was a breeding dog that was bred until she couldn't have puppies anymore. Since she was no good to them now the breeders dumped her at the pound. We were called in a panic because she was in such bad shape. We took her directly to the vet's office and she is slowly recovering there from her abuse.
Hope's toe nails were so long that they grew DEEP into her paw pads. She had urine and fecal burns all over her body from being left in her own filth. She is extremely anemic and has impaired vision in her right eye. Hope weighs 13.7 pounds, but has paws the size of a St. Bernard's because they were so infected by the nails. You can see her paws in the pictures, they are much better now but some of her nails have been badly damaged and it is still very painful for her!!!
We would like for Hope to go to an adult home only because of her delicate nature. We think she is about 8 years old and we are working on her potty training. All that said, Hope loves people, is very adorable and extremely happy to be alive!!
