Timber Logger is a 2 year old Purebred German Shepherd, he weighs 63 pounds.  

He was released by his owner to our county shelter and we pulled him for an approved adopter.  They took him home and pampered him, he was underweight and not cared for well by his previous owners.  Timber is feeling much better and was neutered.  

We are not sure what happened but as he got stronger he became more aware of other dogs.  His new parents didn't have a fenced yard so they had to walk him and he started lunging towards the other dogs also out for a walk.  Unfortunately they couldn't handle him while walking anymore and we took him back.  

He doesn't act this way with squirrels and birds and hasn't been around any cats yet.  Timber warms up to most people immediately but others he will act more reserved.  He doesn't like getting wet and doesn't even like the rain while wearing a coat.  

His adoptive parents started working with him on basic training and he was doing really good, he knows down and up, sit and left/right.  He sleeps in a crate but he doesn't like having the door closed.  He likes tug toys and tennis balls now, when he was first adopted he didn't play with anything.  

He wanted to be close to his parents at all times, he would get a little anxious if he was left alone for more than 2 hours.  They were working on that with giving him bones that would last him a while.  They feel if he had a fenced yard where he could get more of his energy out he would be better at being left alone.  

We can't say how his life was before we got him.  He wasn't in top health and it sounds like he got really attached to his adopters.  He is going to need some work with training but they also said he is a loveable goofball.  His previous adopters want him to have a home with more room to run and someone who maybe works from home.
