Bella is an 1 year old Purebred Staffordshire Terrier, she weighs 53 pounds. 

She is very shy, sweet and absolutely LOVES to cuddle. Her soul is so pure and she gets along very well with people and other dogs.  We would prefer placing her in a home without young kids because she is a strong dog and could knock them over accidentally.  She has been placed in two different homes but she becomes attached to one person and then gets protective of them. We are thinking that she needs to be in a home with just one person or if someone is willing to bring in a trainer to work on this issue she could be in a home with two adults.

Bella was originally given up by her owner and was taken in by a man who's house got destroyed by a falling tree.  Sadly he passed away in the accident and now she was homeless again. Bella was in the home when this happened so she is scared by loud noises.

Bella needs to go to a home where the family has experience with her breed.  She definitely needs a fenced yard for potty and playtime but she is an indoor dog.  It takes her some time to trust fully and when you let her out in the fenced yard she will run away from you when you try to get her back in the house.  One of our volunteers had her overnight and she did this to them.  It took 45 minutes of trying to coax her so they split up and stood on different sides of her.  The woman that she knew better was able to grab her by the harness.  She is not mean at all and didn't try to bite, she is just scared and doesn't always know how to react.  The best way to train her for this would be to let her out in the fenced yard on a long rope and  repeatedly pull her to you with treats and praise.  If you have the time to work with her she will be an amazing dog,
