Meet Blondie, she's a 9 month old Golden Retriever mix and currently weighs 37 pounds.

Blondie's owner was going to jail and she was just going to set her free.  A man who was passing through town took her in and was trying to care for her.  This man was very good to her and they had a special bond. Unfortunately he didn't have the means to care for her so he asked one of our volunteers for help.  

Blondie is very sweet but she is scared of people until she knows you aren't going to hurt her.  If you make any quick moves or stand over her head she will cower.  Once she trusts you she will roll on her back so you can rub her belly and give you a bunch of kisses.  

Blondie had fleas and hook worms so she is currently being treated for that.  She will be spayed next week and will be ready for a forever home.  

She needs a home that is "safe" for her where she will feel comfortable and loved.  Blondie must have a fenced yard for playtime, she will chase cars if she can.  A home without young kids would be best for her because of her hesitation to quick movements.  We are going to test her soon with other dogs and will update that when we do.
