Cain is a 5 year old purebred German Shepherd.  He was found by a family that took great care of him until he was ready to be adopted out.

We are not sure what happened to Cain, but he had many abrasions on his back legs and feet.  This has been treated, he is neutered and up to date on all his vaccines.  He is heart worm negative and on monthly preventives.

Cain is a very sweet boy, but it takes him a little bit to see if he can trust you.  He was afraid of doorways when we got him, but he is getting much better with that.  He was also scared of men more than women, it is possible that he was abused is his previous home.

We are slowly trying Cain with other dogs.  He got along great with the medium sized female dog at the house where he was found.  We tried him with a large male dog and he was uncomfortable.  We will give him some time and try again with a smaller male dog.

The German Shepherd breed is very protective of their owners.  It may be possible that Cain will be better being an only dog or be with a female, submissive dog.  We will update this as we get more information.

Cain is great with humans once he knows he can trust you.  We had him around some girls around 8-10 years old and he did great with them.

Cain is an indoor dog and needs a solid or chain link fence for potty and playtime.
